SPD Surge Protector Device Circuit Breaker
Surge backup protector is a device used in conjunction with SPD. Its core function is to quickly cut off the circuit when the SPD fails or a short-circuit fault occurs to prevent fire or equipment damage caused by power frequency overcurrent. It is the “last line of defense” of the lightning protection system.
When the SPD has abnormal power frequency current due to lightning strike, aging or internal short circuit (usually above 3A), the backup protector cuts off the circuit within 0.1 seconds through a high-speed electromagnetic tripping mechanism or electronic control module. It can withstand large lightning strikes and does not break under lightning transient currents, ensuring that the SPD continues to protect against lightning and has the ability to quickly break low power frequency currents.
Type T1: Applicable to the boundary between LPZ0 and LPZ1, such as the entrance to the outside of a building, it can withstand 10/350μs lightning strikes and is used to deal with direct lightning strikes or high-energy surges.
T2 type: used at the boundary between LPZ1 and LPZ2, such as inside the distribution cabinet, to meet the 8/20μs surge protection requirements, and is suitable for lightning induction or smaller surge impact scenarios.
Type T3: Provides refined protection for subsequent protection areas, such as the front end of sensitive equipment, and is suitable for end protection of precision equipment.
